ORD-33-81 GRANTING THE MAYOR THE POWER TO AUTH THE DELIVERY POSSESION AND CONSUMPTION OF WINE FOR EVENTS HELD IN THE WEIMER CONFERENCE AREA OF CITY HALLADOPTED this 20th day of October 1981 ORDINANCE NO. 33- 81 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING SECTION 5.72. 080 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING SUBSECTION E GRANTING TO THE MAYOR THE POWER TO AUTHORIZE THE DELIVERY, POSSES-SION AND CONSUMPTION OF WINE FOR EVENTS HELD IN THE GEORGE N. WEIMER CONFERENCE AND RECEPTION AREA OF THE CITY HALL.WHEREAS, a new conference room and reception area has been added in the City Halli and WHEREAS, said facility has been officially designated as the liThe George N. We imer Conference and Reception Area II; and WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council that said facility shall be available from time to time for the conduct of special pageants by public entities and non- profit organizations as provided in Chapter 5.72 of the Orange Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, said Chapter 5.72 also provides that the City Council may authorize the purchase, possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages at a special pageant; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to grant to the Mayor the power to authorize the use of alcoholic beverages in The George N.Weimer Conference and Reception Area, but to restrict such power to authorize only the delivery, possession and consumption of wine.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I:Section 5.72.080 of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Subsection E to read as follows:E. The Mayor may authorize the delivery, possession and consumption of wine at any event held in that portion of the City Hall designated as The George N. Weimer Conference and Reception Area, subject to conditions imposed by him.
