ORD-05-81 PROHIBITS THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES OF MORE THAN 6000 POUNDS UNLADEN WEIGHT ON TAFT AVENUE BETWEEN GLASSELL STREET AND TUSTIN STREETORDINANCE NO. 5- 81 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING SECTION 10.52. 020 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT THE OPERATION OF MarOR VEHICLES OF MORE THAN 6000 POUNDS UNLADEN WEIGHT ON TAFr AVENUE BETWEEN GLASSELL STREET AND TUSTIN STREET.WHEREAS, after due public notice as required by law,a public hearing was duly held on February 17, 1981 in accordance with the requirements set forth in California Vehicle Code Section 35705; and WHEREAS, the City Council found and determined that the public interest would be best served if motor truck traffic was reduced on Taft Avenue because of the problems of exces-sive noise and vibration; and WHEREAS, the City Council further found that said' reduc-tion of motor truck traffic would not adversely affect com-mercial activities in the areas proximate to Taft Avenue; and WHEREAS, Chapter lO.52 concerns motor truck routes within the City of Orange and Section 10.52.020 contains a list of streets along and over which motor trucks are prohibited.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN PS FOLLOWS:SEcrION I:Section lO.52.020 is hereby amended by adding to the listing of prohibited motor truck routes, thefollowingportionofastreetlocatedwithintheCityof Orange:Taft Avenue be.tween Glassell Street and Tustin Street.SECTION II:This Ordinance shall be published once within fifteen 15) days after its passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Orange, and shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its final passage.ADOPTED this ~?'.~th day of March 1981.
