80 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHECITYOFORANGEREGULATINGTHE
SLAUGHTER-ING OF ANIMALS WITHIN THE CITY OF
ORANGF~WHEREAS, the City C~uncil of the City of Orange
has determined tJ:at slaughter~ng of animals for personai
use within the Cl ty of Orange has become a public
concern.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY ORDAI~
AS
FOLLOWS:SECTION
1:Section 6.04.051 is hereby added to the Orange
Muni-cipal code to read as
follows:6.04.
051 No person shall kill any animal in the City of
Orange in order that it may be sold or used as food,
except:a) In an enclosed building in a residential
area and, provided each animal so slaughtered (is)
of five (5) pounds or less in weight;
or b) In commercial slaughtering
buildings.Nothing herein shall be construed to permit any
use of property in violation of the zoning
regulations of the City of
Orange.SECTION
II:This ordinance shall be published once within
fifteen 15) days after its passage in the Orange City Ne~s,
a newspaper of general circulation, published and.
cuculated in the City of Orange, and shall take effect thuty (
30)days from and after the date of its final
passage.ADOPTED this 14th day of
