JENSEN, CITY ClJ.:RK ORDINANCE NO. 21- 80 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE ADOPTED AS AN URGENCY MEASURE AMENDING SECTION 13.60.020 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE BY INCLUDING SANITATION CHARGE FOR APARTMENT UNITS WHERE TRASH BINS CANNOT BE PLACED.WHEREAS, the City Counc il adopted Ordinances No. 67- 79 and No. 68-79 causing new sanitation charges to become effective on January 1, 1980; and WHEREAS, certain contractual requirements with the City's contractor was inadvertently omitted from said ordinances; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires that these new charges become effective as soon as possible.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:SECTION I:Section 13.60.020 Section 13.60.020 C of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:C. Apartment house, two dollars and sixty-two cents per month for each apartment unit. When the Director of Public Works determines that it is not reasonably possible to place a trash bin at an active water meter service for a building generating trash in excess of five 45-gallon containers per week, the charge for each unit of such multiple family building shall be an additional two dollars and thirty- two cents per month.SECTION II:Section 13.60. 04 is hereby amended as follows:Section 13,60.040 Charges to premises without sewer mains.For each residential unit, commercial unit, or industrial unit to which a sewer main is not available where such premises is occupied by one or more persons or is used for professional, commercial, manufacturing or processing purposes,charges shall be two dollars and thirty-two cents per month.SECTION III:The reasons for the urgency of this ordinance is that it has always been the intent of the City Council that these amendments be included in the I.--r fn r"that the City Council is concerned that the City's trash contract should not be imperiled and that these additional costs should be recovered from persons using the service.THEREFORE, pursuant to the procedures of Section 36937 of the Government Code, the City Council of the City of Orange hereby enacts this ordinance as an urgency measure in order to protect the public health, safety and wel fare until the time the permanent ordinance becomes effective.ADOPTED this 11th day of March, 1980.Mayor of the City of Orange ATTEST: IgCP~/~ CltyClerkthC~;;r 0 Orange STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE CITY OF ORANGE ss I i t Clerk of the City of Orange, California, DO I, MARILYN J.
