AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ORANGE AMENDING SECTION 10.16.120 OF THE
ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ELIMINATING THE
TWO HOUR PARKING TIME ALLOWANCE ON PUBLIC
STREETS.

WHEREAS, Section 10.16.120 of the Orange Municipal Code
heretofore has provided that trucks and similar type vehicles
lllay park for two hours on public streets in the residential and
business districts and in residentially-developed areas;
and WHEREAS, on January 15, 1980 and February 12, 1980,
public hearings before the City Council were duly held to determine
if said section should be amended to eliminate said two hour
parking time allowance;
and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the parking
of trucks and similar type vehicles shall be allowed only for
the reasons stated in said Section 10.16.120 and that the two
hour parking time allowance should be
eliminated.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE
DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:Section 10.16.120 of the Orange Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as
follows:SECTION
I:No person shall park and leave standing on any
public street in any residential or business district as
defined in the California Vehicle Code, or in any
residentia1ly-developed area, as defined herein, any of the
following vehicles, except while mechanically disabled, or
while loading or unloading property, or when such vehicle
is parked in connection with, and in aid of, the performance
of a service to or on a property in the block in which
such vehicle is parked or left
standing:A. Any truck tractor as defined by the California
Vehicle Code with or without attached
trailer.B. Any trailer not attached to a motor vehicle,
except recreational vehicles as defined in the Health
and Safety
Code.C. Any bus as defined by the California Vehicle
Code.D. Any motor truck as defined by the California
Vehicle Code with any two of the following three
features:1. A diameter of the wheel rim of seventeen inches
or
larger.2. Having more than two
axles.3. Having more than two wheels on anyone

E. Farm machines.
F. Special purpose machines.
G. Any unlicensed vehicle.
AS used in this section, residentially-developed area
shall mean that portion of a highway and the property
contiguous thereto, other than a business
district:

I A. Upon one side of which highway, within a distance of
a quarter of a mile, the contiguous property is
occupied by thirteen or more dwelling units,
or B. Upon both sides of which highway, within a distance
of a quarter of a mile, the contiguous property is
occupied by sixteen or more dwelling units, whether or not
said dwelling units front on said highway and whether or
not said dwelling units are single family or
multiple family in
character.SECTION
II:This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (
15)days after its passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the City
of Orange, and shall take effect thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its final
