HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD-05-94 Amend Sec 10.14.050 of Ch 10.14 Speed LimitsORDINANCE NO. 5- 94 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING SECTION 10.14.050 OF CHAPTER 10.14 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO SPEED LIMITS.WHEREAS, the City Council approves the recommendations of the City Traffic Commission to establish certain new speed limits on designated segments of certain streets; and WHEREAS, speed limits are required by state law to be established by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the establishment of the recommended speed limits is in the best interest of the City and the welfare and safety of the public.NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange does ordain as follows:SECTION I:Section 10.14.050 of Chapter 10.14 of Title 10 of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby repealed and new section 10.14.050 is added thereto to read as follows:10.14.050 Saeed Limits Established On the basis of engineering and traffic The provisions of this ordinance, insofar as they are substantially the same as ordinance provisions previously adopted by the City related to the same subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and continuations, and not as new enactments.SECTION IV:A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the City Council meeting at which this Ordinance is to be adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage in a newspaper of general circulation, published, and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk shall post in the Office of the City Clerk a certified copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with the names of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance in accordance with Government Code Section 36933.This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its final passage.
