HomeMy WebLinkAboutNotice of Vacancy - Santiago Creek Commission 11-15-23NOTICE OF VACANCY Santiago Creek Commission NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to California Government Code §54974, that a vacancy exists on the newly created Santiago Creek Commission. There are seven open positions. For the initial committee, three of the citizen representatives will be appointed to a term expiring June 30, 2027 (and then every four years thereafter); and four of the citizen representatives will be appointed to a term expiring on June 30, 2028. The successful appointee(s) will be required to file a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office; and complete Ethics Training and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training and Education as required by State law (California Government Code §53235, §53237.1). The Santiago Creek Commission is established to act in an advisory capacity and provide recommendations and general advice to City Council regarding topics concerning the Santiago Creek Area, including but not limited to the following: 1. Preservation and/or enhancement of the ecological, scenic, historical, and recreational resource of Santiago Creek Area, excluding private property and parks; 2. Develop and support relationships with volunteer and non-profit organizations and public and private agencies, interested in the Santiago Creek Area; 3. Listen to and consider community input regarding the Santiago Creek Area. Qualifications: Members shall have their primary residence in the City of Orange and shall have general knowledge of the Santiago Creek Area. Meetings: The fourth Wednesday of January, April, July, and October at 5:30 p.m. Application Deadline: Open until filled. In accordance with Govt. Code 54974, final appointment to the commission shall not be made by the City Council for at least 10 business days after the posting of this notice.
