Home My WebLink AboutORD-20-97 Amend Sec 10.14.050 Speed LimitsORDINANCE NO. 20- 97 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING SECTION ]0.]4. 050 OF CHAPTER ]0.]4 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO SPEED LIMITS.WHEREAS, the City Council approves the recommendations of the City Traffic Commission to establish certain new speed limits on designated segments of cel1ain streets; and WHEREAS, speed limits are required by the state law to be established by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the establishment of the recommended speed limits in the best interest of the City and the welfare and safety of the public.NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange docs ordain as follows:SECTION I:Section10.14.050 of Chapter 10.14 of Title 10 of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:ALMOND AVENUE Flower Street to Main Street 30mph ANAHEIM BOULEVARD State College Boulevard to North City Limits 45 mph BATAVIA STREET La Veta Avenue to Chapman Avenue Chapman Avenue to AT & S.F. The provisions of this ordinance, insofar as they are substantially the same as ordinance provisions previously adopted by the City related to the samc subject matter, shall be constructed as restatements and continuations, and not as new enactments.7 Ord. No. 20-97 SECTION IV: A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the City Council meetings at which this Ordinance is to be adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage in a newspaper of general circulation, published, and circulated in the City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance in accordance with Government Code Section 36933. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its final passage.
