r-AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE ADDING NEW CHAPTER 1.12
TO THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
THE CITY NAME, SEAL AND
LOGOS.THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE HEREBY
ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:SECTION
I:Chapter 1.12 is added to the Orange Municipal Code to read as
follows:Chapter 1.
12 CITY NAME, SEAL AND
LOGOS
Sections:1.12.010 Property of
City 1.12.020 Other Authorized
Uses 1.12.010 Prol>ertv of City. The name "City of Orange", the official City seal, and
any logos adopted and maintained by the City are the property of the City. No person shall,
without perrnission of the City Council, use the City name, seal or logos, or any abbreviation of them,
or any name of which these words, seal or logos are a part in any of the following
ways:A. To designate any business, social, political, religious, or other
organization,including, but not limited to, any corporation, finn, partnership, association, group, activity
or
enterprise.B. To imply, indicate or otherwise suggest that any organization, or any product
or service of the organization is connected or affiliated with, or is endorsed, favored or
supported by, or is opposed by the City or the City
Council.C. To display, advertise, or announce these names publicly at or in connection
with any meeting, assembly, or demonstration, or any propaganda, advertising or
promotional activity of any kind which has for its purpose or any part of its purpose the
support,endorsement, advancement, opposition or defeat of any strike, lockout, or boycott or of
any political, religious, sociological, or economic movement, activity or

the right of any person to make a true and accurate statement in the course of stating his or her
experience or qualifications for any academic, governmental, business, or professional credit or
emollment, or in connection with any academic, governmental, professional or other
employment whatsoever."
SECTION
II:Should
any section, subsection, clause, or provision of this Ordinance for any reason be held
to be invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity
or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance; it being hereby expressly
declared that this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, sentence, clause and phrase hereof
would have been prepared, proposed, approved and ratified irrespective of the fact that anyone
or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional.

CTION III:A
summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this
Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the Cilty
Council meeting at which this Ordinance is adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also
be published once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage in a newspaper of general
circulation, published, and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk shall post in thl;:
Office of the City Clerk a certified copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with
the names of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance in ac(;
ordance with Government Code Section 36933. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)days
from and after the date of its final passage.ADOPTED
