HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD-20-01 Zone Change- St John's Lutheran ChurchORDINANCE NO. 20- 01 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE APPROVING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED NORTH OF ALMOND AVENUE, SOUTH OF CHAPMAN AVENUE AND MORELAND DRIVE,WEST OF HARWOOD STREET AND EAST OF CENTER STREET TO PI- SP (PUBLIC INSTITUTION-SPECIFIC PLAN) FROM OP OFFICE PROFESSIONAL) AND R2-6 (DUPLEX RESIDENTIAL).ZONE CHANGE 1209-0l APPLICANT: ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange is authorized by Government Code Section 65850 to adopt ordinances amending the City's zoning laws; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the information contained in Mitigated Negative Declaration 1673-01, including the initial study and comments received during the public review process, and has found that there is no substantial evidence that the project will have a significant impact on the environment or wildlife and that any significant impacts can be mitIgated to a level of insignificance; and WHEREAS, the City Council held one duly advertised hearing on September 25,2001,for the purpose of considering Zone Change No. 1209-01 upon property described as follows:Shaffers Addition, Block B, Lots 1-13 and 16-18; and, Kogler and Geiger Addition, Block A, Lots 2, 3, and 5 in the City of Orange, California.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:SECTION I:Section 17.06.030 of the Orange Municipal Code is amended in order to change the zoning classification of the above described property as follows:From OP ( Office Professional) and R2-6 (Duplex Residential) to PI-SP (Public Institution-Specific Plan) the property generally situated South of Chapman Avenue and Moreland Drive, North of Almond Avenue, West of Harwood Street and SECTION II: 1. The proposed change to PI-SP from OP and R2-6 is consistent with the recommended Major Site Plan Review 193-01, Resolution No. 9540; and 2. The proposed change to PI-SP from OP and R2-6 is consistent with the General Plan Land Use Map.SECTION III:A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five ( 5) days prior to the City Council meeting at which this Ordinance is adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage in a newspaper of general circulation, published, and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk shall post in the Office of the City Clerk a certified copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with the names of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance in accordance with Government Code Section 36933.
