February 28, 2022
1. OPENING/CALL TO ORDER
Chair Martinez called the meeting to order at 3:31 p.m.
1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Led by Chair Martinez.
1.2 ROLL CALL
Present: Huber, Valencia, and Martinez
Absent: Calvert
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approval of ineeting minutes of the Orange Public Library Board of Trustees for the
January 24, 2022 Regular Meeting.
A motion was made by Vice Chair Huber, seconded by Trustee Valencia, to adopt
minutes as presented. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aves: Huber, Valencia, and Martinez
Noes: None
Absent: Calvert
4. TAFT BRANCH LIBRARY UPDATES
Adult & Branch Services Manager Keisha Loidolt provided an update on Taft Branch
Library, including a new roof and some new furniture. Taft also extended hours (same
as EI Modena)that started 1/3/2022, to Monday through Saturday 10:00 am. to 6:00
p.m. Taft is hosting a Blood Drive on March 7.
5. FRIENDS OF THE ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT
Friends representative Christine Huard-Spencer discussed upcoming book sales: 3/26,
8/13, 9/17, & 12/9. Friends will present a check to the Library at the 3/8/22 council
meeting for$26,000.
6. ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT
Foundation Executive Director Lynn-Marie Frediani discussed upcoming fundraising

events and programs. The Gala is now taking place 9/25/2022 at the Library. They are
in need of seeds for the Seed Library.
7. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
7.1 Updates
Director Curtis reported on current events at the Library, including programs,
funding/donations, and personnel updates. Interviews for Clerk Alternate, Executive
Assistant, and Library Assistant will be taking place in the near future. Public restrooms
at Taft and Elmo Branches are getting updated to be ADA compliant. Pet Food Drive
takes place for the month of March.
7.2 Financial Report
Financial Report January 2022.
This matter was Received and filed.
8. BOARD REPORTS
8.1 Reports from Chair
Chair Martinez is reaching out to Lisa Green to bring the Media Specialists back to the
Library for their monthly meeting.
8.2 Reports from Trustees
None.

None.
11. ADJOURNMENT
Meeting adjourned at 4:23 p.m.
The next Regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in the
Orange Public Library & History Center Rotary Room.
