OPENING/CALL TO ORDER Chair Martinez called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. 1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Chair Martinez. 1.2 ROLL CALL Present: Martinez, Huber, Calvert, and Valencia Absent: None 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of ineeting minutes of the Orange Public Library Board of Trustees for the November 15, 2021, Regular Meeting. A motion was made by Vice Chair Huber, seconded by Trustee Calvert, that the Minutes be Approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aves: Martinez, Huber, Calvert, and Valencia Noes: None Absent: None 4. STAFF PRESENTATION - LOCAL HISTORY Local History Archivists Aida Cuevas and Charla DelaCuadra provided an update on the Local History Center and what they are working on for the Library. They have received several new acquisitions and are attending community meetings to introduce themselves. They have several projects planned for the future and will continue to revamp and refresh the Local History Center, its webpage and programming. 5. EL MODENA BRANCH UPDATES Adult & Branch Services Manager Keisha Loidolt gave an update on EI Modena Branch Library. Starting 1/3/2022 the Branches extended their hours to Monday through Saturday 10:00 am. to 6:00 p.m. EI Modena continues to provide Homework assistance, computer stations, a study room, and Storytime. FRIENDS OF THE ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT Friends President Kathleen Stevens discussed updates to their Board, the bookstore, donations, upcoming events, and book sale profits. 7. ORANGE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT Foundation Executive Director Lynn-Marie Frediani discussed Board updates, upcoming fundraising events and programs. The Board is meeting this evening to vote on canceling or postponing the Gala (due to COVID). 8. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT 8.1 Updates Director Curtis reported on current events at the Library, including programs, funding and donations, personnel updates, and branch updates. The City launched their new website last week. Materials auto-renewal started on 1/3/2022, along with new hours for all Iocations.The Branches are now open in the morning. Inventory at Main will be commencing (EI Modena and Taft have been completed). 8.2 Financial Report Financial Report-July 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. This LBOT Financial Report was Received and filed. 9. BOARD REPORTS 9.1 Reports from Chair OUSD is not available to meet due to COVID. Once they lift restrictions, Chair Martinez will schedule a meeting. 9.2 Reports from Trustees Vice Chair Huber wants to help bring back Elementary Tours to the Library. Trustee Valencia inquired about getting updated magnets with Library info. The Board expressed interest in assisting with inventory at Main. 10. OLD BUSINESS None. 10.1 Gala Auction Item Due to the Fou�dation Board rneeting tonight to vote on cancelling/postponing the Gala, this item wiBl be tabled. 11. NEW BUSINESS �ione.
