HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/7/1984 - Minutes PC~ PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES City of Orange R Orange, California May 7, 1984 Monday, 7:30 p.m. The regular meeting of the Orange City Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Hart at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners Hart, Greek, Mason, Master, Vasquez ABSENT: None STAFF Jere P. Murphy, Administrator of Current Planning and Commission PRESENT: Secretary; Jack McGee, Associate Planner; Gene ~^inshew-, .Assistant. City Attorney; and Toba V. ~dheeler, Recording Secretary. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 16, 1984 The minutes of April 16, 1984, were corrected to show that the study session on St. Joseph Hospital was to be May 14, not May. 15. Moved by Commissioner Master, seconded by Commissioner Mason, to approved the minutes of April 16, 1984, as corrected. AYES: Commissioners Hart, Mason, Master NOES: Commissioners Greek, Vasquez ABSENT: None MOTION CARRIED IN RE: CONTINUED HEARINGS GENERAL PLAN - LAND USE ELEMENT 2-84-A, ZONE CHANGE 1014 - ORANGE SENIOR HOUSING, INC.: A request to amend the General Plan - Land Use Element designation from Low Density and Medium Density to High Density Residential (15 to 24 du/ac) and to change the zoning from R-7-6 and R-D-6 to RM-7 on a 7±-acre parcel adjacent to the north side of Santiago Creek, between Cambridge Street and Shaffer Street. Note: Negative Declaration 895 has been prepared for this project. (This item was continued from the April 2, 1984, Planning Commission Meeting.) Mr. Murphy said the Commission has received a request from the applicant requesting a 120-day continuance. Moved by Commissioner Vasquez, seconded by Commission Greek, that the continuance be granted. AYES: Commissioners Hart, Greek, Mason, Master, Vasquez NOES: None ABSENT: None MOTION CARRIED ~. Planning Commission Minutes May 7, 1984 ~ Page Two IN RE: CONTINUED HEARINGS ORDINANCE AMENDMENT 3-84 Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance establishing regulations for satellite dishes. Note: Negative Declaration 896 has been prepared for this project. (This item was continued from the April 16, 1984, Planning Commission Meeting.) Mr. Murphy said that the information requested from two members of the satellite dish industry had not been received until noon on May 3, which had not given the Staff time to read, review and discuss it; therefore Staff requests that this item be continued both to the study session on May 14 and the regular meeting of the Commission on May 21. Moved by Commissioner Vasquez, seconded by Commissioner Mason, that the recommended action be approved. AYES: Commissioners Hart, Greek, Mason, Master, Vasquez NOES: None ABSENT: None MOTION CARRIED IN RE: MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS DISCUSSION ITEM - DENSITY Discussion of areas to be included in "developable area" in computing density for project proposals. (This item was continued from the April 16, 1984, Planning Commission Meeting.) Moved by Commissioner Master, seconded by Commissioner Mason, that Resolution No. PC-14-84 be approved. AYES: Commissioners Hart, Greek, Mason, Master, Vasquez NOES: None ABSENT: None MOTION CARRIED DISCUSSION ITEM - ACCESS ROADS Discussion of including (or excluding) access easements and access- ways on flag lots from minimum lot area requirements. (This item was continued from the April 16, 1984, Planning Commission Meeting.) Peters Canyon Specific Plan. He suggested that there be a study session on this item. After discussion, it was agreed that this study session be held on May 30 at 5:00 p.m. IN RE: ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m., to be reconvened to a study session on Monday, May 14, 1984 at 5:00 p.m., at the'-Civic Center Council Chambers, 300 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, California.
