RES-7907 Loyal Service Appreciation for Carl H. GaitherRESOLUTION NO. 7907 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO CARL H. GAITHER OF THE ORANGE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR ALMOST 29 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE WHEREAS, Carl H. Gaither began his service with the Public Works Department as a draftsman on February 19, 1963, and WHEREAS, Carl was promoted to Surveyor II position on August 16, 1963, progressing to Instrument Man on January 4, 1965, and WHEREAS, he joined the city's Public Works inspection team on April 16, 1970, and WHEREAS, Carl progressed as an Inspector Technician until attaining his present position Public Works Inspector on July 15, 1975, and and as Soils Senior WHEREAS, he earned his registration as a Public Works Construction Inspector from the State of California on June 1, 1979, and WHEREAS, Carl is noted for his ability to work effectively with citizens, contractors, employees and others to resolve conflicts, solve problems, and at the same time, completing the job on time, and WHEREAS, he has been the recipient of many written and formal commendations, citations and documenting his skills and abilities in dealing with people related problems, and verbal, letters job and WHEREAS, Carl has contributed to our community by his commitment to the Orange Masonic Lodge, his participation in Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, DeMolay, and most recently, his enthusiasm as a "Tin Lizzie" driver representing the Shriners, and WHEREAS, Carl has announced his decision to retire from city service effective January 6, 1992. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange hereby expresses sincere appreciation and congratulations to Carl H. Gaither for almost 29 years of dedicated and faithful service. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the the city Council, on behalf of the citizens of Orange, wish Carl a healthy, prosperous and satisfying retirement. ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 1991.
