A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
JANET GONZALEZ, JOE NIEBLAS, AND GARY
SKE" OLSCHEWSKE FOR DONATING TO THE CITY
OF ORANGE A wELCOME HOME BANNER HONORING
THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED IN THE
PERSIAN GULF WAR.
WHEREAS, American and coalition armed forces won an incrediblevictoryinthePersianGulfWaragainstIraq; and
WHEREAS, Kuwait is again a free nation; and
and
WHEREAS, our victorious troops are beginning to return home;
WHEREAS, above Chapman Avenue, immediately east of the plaza,is a large yellow street banner which reads: "The City of Orange _Proud of Our Troops - Welcome Home"; and WHEREAS,
this banner expresses so well the sentiments of the Cityanditscitizens; and WHEREAS,
this wonderful tribute to our servicemen and women is a
gift from three local business people, Janet Gonzalez, Joe Nieblas, and Gary "Ske" Olschewske; and WHEREAS,
when asked why they made this fine contribution, Ms.Gonzalezstated, "We needed to do something to express our appreciation".
They certainly did - for all of us.NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of OrangetoherebyexpressappreciationtoJanetGonzalez, Joe Nieblas, andGary "Ske" Olschewske for donating to the City of Orange the
welcome home banner honoring the men and women who served in
the Persian Gulf War.ADOPTED this
