A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE APPROVING THE
RECLASSIFICATION OF ONE liBRARY
MANAGER POSITION AT RANGE 457 ($3484-
4468) TO THE CLASSIFICATION OF SENIOR
LffiRARY MANAGER AT RANGE 487 ($4047-
5189) AND FURTHER DIRECTING STAFF TO
AMEND THE POSITION CONTROL SYSTEM
AND THE DEPARTMENT'S BUDGET TO
REFLECT THESE CHANGES.
WHEREAS, the Library director has requested that the position of Library Manager
which has responsibilities for three branches be studied for possible reclassification; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Department has conducted a study of the duties and
requirements of this position; and
WHEREAS, a thorough evaluation of the position reveals that the scope of
responsibility and the level of duties are comparable to those of the Senior Library
Manager in the main library; and
WHEREAS, Personnel, with the approval of the Library Director, recommends that
the Library Manager position which has responsibilities for three branch libraries be
reclassified to the classification of Senior Library Manager at range 487 ($4047-$5189).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Orange does hereby approve the reclassification of the Library Manager position assigned
to the branch libraries to the classification of Senior Library Manager at range 487 ($4047-
5189).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Orange does
hereby direct staff to amend the Position Control System and the Library Department
budget to reflect these changes.
