JOHNSON 01' THE ORANGB POLICB DBPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM I'OR MORE THAN TWENTY-THREB YEARS 01' LOYAL AND DBDICATBD SBRVICB.WHBREAS, Robert "Bob" Johnson began his career as a patrol officer on August 1, 1969; and WHEREAS, Bob was transferred to Detective Division in February 1972 and served 5-1/2 years investigating residential burglaries, general thefts and was in the vice/ intelligence unit;and WHEREAS, Bob was assigned to assist the Santa Ana Police Department in the investigation of a major prostitution ring in their city which lead to the closure of an entire city block of crime ridden businesses and resulted in his receiving a commendation from the Santa Ana Chief of Police; and WHEREAS, Bob was reassigned and spent 10 years working with Orange County Courts and the District Attorney's Office as the Orange Police Department Court Liaison Officer during which time he was commended by the District Attorney's office for his knowledge of the law and dedication in representing the interests of the Police Department and our community within the judicial system; and WHEREAS, Detective Johnson and the Santa Ana Police Court Liaison Officer conceived and implemented the Central Orange County Criminal Justice Committee consisting of Judges, Deputy District Attorneys, Probation Officers and Police Officers who combined their knowledge to streamline our criminal justice system; and WHEREAS, Bob has announced his decision to retire from City service as of December 31, 1992.NOW, THEREI'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange hereby expresses sincere appreciation and congratulations to Robert H. Johnson for his more than 23 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Orange, wishes Detective Bob Johnson a most happy and fulfilling retirement.ADOPTED this 8th day of December, 1992.
