RES-8091 Amending Resolution No. 7853RESOLUTION NO, 8091 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING RESOLUTION NO, 7853 FOR THE MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF ORANGE TO REFLECT CHANGES TO WAGES, HOURS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH A FURLOUGH PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange wishes to modify wages, hours, and conditions of employment to reflect employees participation in a temporary furlough program effectiye October 4, 1992 through June 26, 1993, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orange that the attached addendum to Resolution No, 7853 is adopted and set forth as follows: ADDENDUM TO RESOLUTION NO, 7853 RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT OF THE MISCELLANEOUS EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF ORANGE, SECTION 2, add The salary and wage schedules listed in Exhibit "A" of Resolution No, 7853 constitute the basic compensation plan. Howeyer, for the remaining term of this resolution, for employees participating in the temporary furlough program, actual salaries paid will be prorated to reflect actual hours worked, SECTION 13, OVERTIME (COMPENSATORY TIME), A. add: Except that, for the remaining term of this resolution, any accumulated oyertime accrued in excess of eighty (80) hours must be taken as time off within one month of the date the employee exceeds the eighty (80) hour limit or the excess hours shall be forfeited, Furthermore, during the remaining term of this resolution, employees shall waiye the right to conyert accumulated compensatory time to cash, SECTION 15, HOLIDAYS, B, add..Except that, for the remaining term of this Resolution, for those employees participating in the temporary furlough program, when any of the aboye holidays falls on a Friday or Saturday, except one-half(l/2) day before Christmas, employees will be credited with eight (8) hours of holiday compensatory time, Accumulated holiday compensatory time must be used by the employee by the end of the calendar year in which it was SECTION 16, VACATIONS, A. add: Howeyer, for the remaining term of this Resolution, employees participating in the temporary furlough program who work a thirty-six (36) hour work week and who haye one (1) year's continuous service shall thereafter accrue paid yacation in accordance with the following: C. add..Howeyer, for the remaining term of this Resolution, this proyision shall bewaiyed,SECTION 18, LEAVES OF ABSENCE,E, SICK LEAVE, add:1) ,..Howeyer, for the remaining term of this Resolution, employees participating in the temporary furlough program and working a thirty- six (36)hour work week, eight (8) hours of sick leave will accrue for each month of continuous service,SECTION 25, EFFECTIVE DATES, This resolution shall be effectiye as of October 4, 1992 and shall continue in full force and effect until June 26, 1993 unless otherwise amended,SECTION 26. MISCELLANEOUS FURLOUGH PROVISIONS A. Layoffs The City agrees that for the remainder of this Resolution, October 4,1992 through June 26, 1993, benefited employees coyered by this resolution shall not be subject to layoffs,B, Early Retirement Options The City will offer to eligible employees coyered by this Resolution Early Retirement Incentiyes Options, Employees may choose on of the following options consisting of the following:1) Two years additional service credit. In addition, the City will pay a portion of the employee's health premium through June 30,1993, up to the amounts shown below;2) An annuity in an amount approximately equiyalent to what it would cost the City to purchase the additional 2 years of service credit.
