THAN THXRTY-ONB YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDXCATED
SERVXCE.WHEREAS, Elwood (Woody) Hayes began his service with
the City of Orange on February 16, 1961, as an auto-mechanic
in the garage which was then in the Public Works
Department; and WHBREAS, Woody subsequently transferred to
the Water Department in August, 1965, as a water meter
reader; and WHEREAS he was promoted to Meter Reading Crew Leader
in 1971 and to Supervisor in
1978; and WHBREAS, in those capacities, Woody has
supervised the activities of the meter reading and customer service
crew for over twenty years, during which time he has
implemented many operational and technological changes to improve
the productivity of the crew and to meet the challenges of a growing
water
system;and WHEREAS, he has received numerous
compliments and commendations from the public, from co-workers,
and from other water agencies for his prOfessionalism,
expertise, and helpful cooperation in carrying out his
customer service
responsibil-ities; and WHEREAS, Woody has announced his decision to
retire from the city service as of
July 11, 1992.NOW, THEREPORE, BB XT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Orange expresses sincere
appreciation and congratulations to Elwood (Woody) Hayes for his 31 years of
loyal and dedicated service to the
City of Orange.ADOPTBD this 21st day
