RECITALS:After report thereon by the Planning commission and
after due public hearings as required by law, and after receiving
a recommendation from the Planning Commission, recommending,
by Resolution No. PC-62-91, that Variance 1918-
91 be denied to allow an increase to the number of
signs and sign display area, the City Council
considered the Planning commission recommendation and granted
Variance 1918-91. Said real property is more
particularly described in Exhibit A.During the public hearing,
the City Council found the facts as presented in the
Planning commission Staff
Report and Resolution No. PC-62-91.However, the City
Council found that an increase in the number of signs and
sign display area is justified in this case due to
the
unique circumstances peculiar to the subject property.NOW, THBREFORE, BB IT
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
that Variance
1918-91 be granted for the following reasons:1. That
the variance shall be subject to conditions as will
assure that the adjustment thereby authorized shall not constitute
a grant of special privilege inconsistent with the limitations upon
other properties in the vicinity
and zone in which subject property is situated;
2. That because of special circumstances applicable
to subject property, including size, shape, topography, location
or surroundings, the strict application of the zoning ordinance
is found to deprive subject property of privileges enjoyed
by other properties
in the vicinity and under identical zoning classification.BB IT
J'URTHBR RESOLVED that Variance
1918-91 be granted subject to the following conditions:1.
A dark colored background shall be provided on all
signs; sign copy may be illuminated for nighttime visibility.2.
