RES-7933 Amending Budget and Position Control System Related to Employment ReclassificationsRESOLUTION NO. 7933 A RESOLUTION NO. 7933 APPROVING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF ONE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II (POSITION 713), RANGE 390 ($2495- 3199)TO ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE CIVIL ENGINEER, RANGE 447 ($3315-4251), AND THE RECLASSIFICATION OF ONE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN IIII (POSITION NO, 91),RANGE 370 ($2258-2895), TO SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK, RANGE 324 ($ 1795-2302), EFFECTIVE JANUARY 13, 1992, AND DIRECTING STAFF TO AMEND THE BUDGET AND THE POSITION CONTROL SYSTEM TO REFLECT THESE CHANGES.WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has requested that one Engineering Technician I/II position in the Design Section of Engineering be reclassified to Assistantl Associate Civil Engineer; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has reassigned one Engineering Technician I/II position in the Design Section of Engineering to the Street Division and requested that it be reclassified to reflect the change in duties; and WHEREAS, Personnel has conducted studies of the duties and requirements of both Engineering Technician I/II positions, as well as the current and ongoing needs of the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, Personnel determined that the higher level duties and requirements of the first Engineering Technician I/II position are more appropriately classified as Assistantl Associate Civil Engineer, while the duties of the reassigned Engineering Technician I/II position are higher level clerical in nature, and the combination of duties and position requirements support a reclassification to Senior Administrative Clerk,NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of the City of Orange does hereby approve the reclassification of two positions in the Public Works Department, as follows:One Engineering Technician VII (Position No. 713), Range 390 ($2495-3199) to Assistant Civil Engineer, Range 447 ($3315-4251); and One Engineering Technician VII (Position No, 91), Range 370 ($2258-2895) Both reclassifications are to be effective January 13, 1992, as outlined in the attached report. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Council directs staff to amend the budget and position control systems to reflect these changes.
