RES-8238 Stating Intention to Install Various New Computer Systems for the Police DepartmentRESOLUTION NO. 8238 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE STATING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO INSTALL A NEW COMPUTER AUTOMATED DISPATCH, RECORDS MANAGEMENT, AND LAPTOP COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, on June 27, 1990, the Orange Police Department obtained 800 MHz Conventional Public Safety/Special Emergency National Plan Radio Service station WNSJ654 through the Federal Communications Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council has appropriated $100,000 for Police Mobile Computers under account number 355-4011-481301-2227 for the current fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Police Department is preparing a Request for Proposal to send out for bid from vendors, from which a selection will be made; and WHEREAS, the Police Department intends to make this selection and commence equipment installation and loading of their data channel in the current fiscal year and maximize the system within a two year period, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange intends to provide additional financing as needed to implement this project.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange intends to support this project, and hereby calls upon the Federal Communications Commission to pennit the City to retain License No. WNSJ654 for the vital public safety purposes of the Orange Police Department.Adopted this 14th day of I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Orange at a regular meeting thereof held on the 14th of September, 1993, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: SPURGEON, BARRERA, MAYOR BEYER, COONTZ, MURPHY COUNCIL MEMBERS: NONE COUNCIL MEMBERS: NONE ci~t9ci~ Reso No. 8238 2-RDH:dg
