A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE COMMBlfDING MS.
LINDA MILLER FOR HEROIC ACTION AS SHE
ASSISTED IN LIFE-SAVING EFFORTS TO
TEN MONTH OLD JOBATJlA)I
RIVAS.WHEREAS, on July 14, 1993, Jonathan Rivas accidentally
fell into a swimming pool, after crawling out of the residence
where his mother was babysitting;
and WHEREAS, Jonathan Rivas was pulled, unconscious, from
the pool by his mother whose screaming and crying had
alerted neighbors who called 9-
1-1; and WHEREAS, Ms. Miller responded and attended
to the distraught mother while life-saving efforts were in
progress
for her son;and WHEREAS, Ms. Miller went into
the street and directed incoming emergency Police and Fire units
to the proper location.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the
city council of the city of Orange, on behalf of all its
citizens, commends Ms. Linda Miller for her unselfish and heroic
actions in averting the possible tragic loss of life
in this unfortunate incident.ADOPTED this 14th
