RES-8200 Authorizing Membership of Orange Police Department in the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task ForceRESOLUTION NO. 8200 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP OF THE ORANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE ORANGE COUNTY VEHICLE THEFT TASK FORCE. WHEREAS, the problems surrounding automobile theft and car jacking are increasing in California; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 93-54, pursuant to California Vehicle Code section 9250.14 to establish an Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force and funding to impact the increasing incidence of auto theft; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange has pledged its support to work with the County of Orange, District Attorney's Office, Sheriff' s Department, eight other cities and various State and Federal Agencies to help to address this problem.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange, having reviewed the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force Progress Report and the 1993-94 Proposed Task Force Budget does hereby:1. Authorize the Orange Police Department to participate as a member in the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force membership and to represent this city in respect to the Task Force activities; and 2. Authorize that applicable city reimbursement will be made in accordance and compliance with County of Orange accepted accounting procedures, and as referenced in the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force Progress Report.
