RES-8191 Authorizing Application for Bicycle and Pedestrian FundsRESOLUTION NO. 8191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AUTHORIZING OFFICIALS OF THE CITY TO APPLY FOR BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDS PURSUANT TO SENATE BILL 821 AND APPROVING THE ADOPTION OF A BICYCLE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN PLAN FOR THE CITY OF ORANGE WHEREAS, Senate Bill 821 provides that 2% of each county's total local transportation fund be annually set aside and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange desires to construct sidewalk and handicapped ramps within their City utilizing the funds available under Senate Bill 821. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Orange that the following actions and policies are hereby approved: 1. Adoption of the Bikeway system in conformance with the specifications of CalTrans Planning and Design criteria for bikeways in california and the Regional Transportation Plan. 2. Authorization of the Finance Director as the official to execute all agreements on behalf of the city and designation of the Assistant City Engineer as the contact person to implement and administer this program. 3. Authorization to city officials to apply for all funds available to the city of Orange allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities pursuant to the provisions of Senate Bill 821.
