A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING
SUPERVISOR WILLIAM G. STEINER FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE
TO THE CITIZENS OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, Bill Steiner has served with distinction on the Orange City
Council for over four years. He was appointed to fill a vacancy in 1988 and
was elected to a four year term in 1990. He served as Mayor Pro Tern frorn
1992 until his appointment to the Orange County Board of Supervisors in
1993.
WHEREAS, Bill's leadership on the City Council is exemplified by his
active role in helping retain TRW in the City of Orange, supporting balanced
growth, and providing support to programs that address gang prevention,
overcrowding, homelessness, and the day labor problem.
WHEREAS, Bill is known for being conservative with taxpayers dollars
entrusted to the City Council, and has been a tremendous help in assisting
management to streamline the City organization.
WHEREAS, Bill is recognized by his colleagues on the Orange City
Council and throughout Orange County as a caring elected representative
unafraid to look at long term impacts of today's decisions.
WHEREAS, Bill Steiner is a good friend to both taxpayer and public
employee, and he is a leader among Orange County elected officials.
Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the Orange City Council of the City of
Orange that William G. Steiner is hereby recognized for his exceptional public
service to the community of Orange.
