ROWLETT OF THE ORANGE FXRE DEPARTMENT AND COMMBNDXNG HXM FOR MORE THAN TWENTY- NXNB YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDXCATED SERVXCE.WHEREAS, Edward D. Rowlett began his career with the Orange Fire Department on November 16, 1964; and WHEREAS, he was promoted through the ranks of Fireman,Engineer, Captain, and Battalion Chief; and WHEREAS, during this time, he served the Orange Fire Department in various special assignments, including Training Captain, Operations Division Chief, Fire Marshal, and Administration Division Chief; and WHEREAS, on December 29, 1991, Ed Rowlett was appointed Fire Chief of the city of Orange Fire Department; and WHEREAS, during his 29+ year career, Ed was an active participant in the growth and development of the Fire Department and made many positive contributions to the fire service, such as overseeing the installation of sprinklers in non- sprinklered high rise buildings; and WHEREAS, he utilized his outstanding technical knowledge and organizational skills to manage and maintain quality emergency response services for the citizens of Orange during a time of increased demands and decreased resources; and WHEREAS, on June 25, 1994, Chief Rowlett will end his active duty role as Fire Chief of the City of Orange by retiring; and WHEREAS, his contributions have been invaluable to the Orange Fire Department, the City, and to the citizens he served during his outstanding career.NOW, THEREFORE, BE XT RESOLVED by the City council of the city of Orange that Fire Chief Edward D. Rowlett be recognized and congratulated for his loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange for more than twenty-nine years.BE XT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City council, on behalf of the citizens of Orange, wishes Ed and his wife, Sharon, a happy,healthy ADOPTED this 14th day of June, 1994.
