RES-8315 Loyal Service Appreciation for William F. Cornett, Jr.RESOLUTION NO. 8315 A RESOLUTXON OF THE CXTY COUNCXL OF THE CXTY 01' ORANGB EXPRESSXNG SXNCERE APPRECXATXON TO WXLLXAK P. CORNETT, JR. WHBREAS, William F. Cornett, Jr. has served as orange's Interim city Manager from September 20, 1993, to February 27, 1994, succeeding Ronald L. Thompspn and preceding David F. Dixon; and WHBREAS, he has served in city management for over thirty- seven years, including twenty-six years as city manager in the cities of La Verne, South Gate, Fullerton and Riverside; and WHBREAS, he has also served in other interim city manager positions in the cities of Twentynine Palms, Rancho Palos Verdes, and South Gate;and WHBREAS, he has earlier served in positions in San Diego and San Mateo, along with service as a governmental consultant with Kroeger &Associates to the cities of Vancouver, Washington; Duluth, Minnesota;Redwood City and Palo Alto, California, and to five California counties.WHEREAS, he has recently served overseas in two cities in Hungary and a third city in Romania assisting city councils who have been elected by popular vote in establishing locally controlled municipal governments.HOW, THEREFORE, BE XT RESOLVED that on behalf of the community and staff, the Orange city Council wishes to thank him for his professional dedication, his wise guidance, and his cheerful demeanor during his term of service as Interim city Manager in the City of Orange. We will also miss his silver mane and wry humor that has so characterized his personality, and his ability to draw together the best ideas within the city organization.NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT RESOLVED that the Orange City Council wishes to memorialize its thanks and appreciation into this Resolution to serve as a continual reminder of our best wishes to William F. Cornett as he continues his career of public service.ADOPTED this 22nd day of February, 1994.
