RES-8544 Authorizing Applications for Transportation Enhancement Activities Program FY 1995-96, 1996-97RESOLUTION NO. 8544 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AUTHORIZING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 AND THE FISCAL YEARS 1996-97 TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAM; AND CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY OF ORANGE'S PARTICIPATION IS IN CONFORMITY WITH ALL TITLE 23 UNITED STATES CODE REQUIREMENTS, THE UNIFORM RELOCATION ACT, ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS, CALTRANS ADMINISTRATIVE GUIDELINES, AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL.WHEREAS, the Federal Government of the United States of America has enacted the Intennodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) and the Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) program, which is intended to provide California $145 million for Fiscal Years 1993-97 for grant funds for enhancement of public transportation facilities; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has established the procedures and criteria for reviewing grant proposals and is required to submit to the California Transportation Conunission a list of recommended projects from which the grant recipient will be selected; ,'Ixl .WHEREAS, said procedures and criteria established by Caltrans requirea resolution certifj.ng the approval of application(s) by the City of Orange's governing body before submission ofsaid applicat~n(s) to Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA); and WHEREAS, the application contains assurances of which the City of Orange must comply.NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange DOES HEREBY RESOLVE to authorize the Director of Public Works to submit appropriate and eligible project application(s) to Caltrans and OCTA for participation in the Fiscal Years 1995-1997 Transportation ADOPTED this 14th day of November, 1995.
