A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 95-96
BUDGET,APPROVING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF ONE SURVEYOR
II POSITION 373; RANGE 390 - $2495-$3199) TO ENGINEERING
TECHNICIAN I (RANGE 390 - $2495-$3199) AND DIRECTING STAFF
TO AMEND THE POSITION CONTROL SYSTEM TO REFLECT
THIS CHANGE.WHEREAS,
at the request of the Public Works Director/City Engineer, the Personnel Department
reviewed the proposed duties, level of responsibilities, and qualifications for the position
of Engineering Technician I; and WHEREAS,
the Public Works Department is eliminating the survey functions and is desirous
of reallocating its labor resources to the traffic operations section of the department;and
WHEREAS,
the salary and benefits compensation for the classifications of Surveyor II and
Engineering Technician I are equal and the incumbent in the Surveyor II position meets the
qualifications for the classification of Engineering Technician I; and WHEREAS,
to maintain the level of effort needed to support the traffic engineering operations
in the Public Works Department, the Personnel Department recommends that the Surveyor
II position (number 373) be reclassified to Engineering Technician I at salary range 390 ($
2,495-$3,199), and the incumbent in the Surveyor II class be placed in the Engineering Technician
I class.NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that the
FY 95-96 budget be amended to reflect the above reclassification, the budgeted funds for
position 373 be transferred from Activity 5011 to 5032, and the Position Control System be
amended to reflect this change effective September 26, 1995.
