A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 5556, 6157, AND 7155
ELIMINATING THE EMPLOYEE HEALTH COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City of Orange established the Employee Health Council
for the purpose of reviewing and recommending policies, procedures and
changes regarding the self-insurance program relating to
benefits,administration, rate structure and other related
items;WHEREAS, on March 1, 1994 the City contracted with the
Public Employees' Retirement System to make available health insurance
benefits provided under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act
thereby replacing the self-insurance medical
program; and WHEREAS, the function of the Employee Health Council
was greatly diminished due to the elimination of the self-insurance medical
program and the City and the bargaining units, through their representatives,
agreed to dissolve the
Employee Health Council.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Orange that the Employee Health Council be dissolved
effective
