A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE, REQUESTING ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDS FOR MAIN
STREET FROM LA VETA AVENUE TO MAPLE
AVENUE, LA VETA AVENUE FROM FLOWER STREET
TO GLASSELL STREET, AND CHAPMAN AVENUE
FROM ROUTE 57 FREEWAY TO MAIN STREET.
WHEREAS, the Orange County
a Combined Transportation Funding
1993/94; and
Transportation Authority approved
Program (CTFP) for fiscal year
WHEREAS, the CTFP includes $350,000 in fiscal year 1993/94
for a design project on Main Street, between La Veta Avenue and Maple
Avenue, La Veta Avenue between Flower Street and Glassell Street, and
Chapman Avenue between Route 57 Freeway and Main Street (Design
Project); and
WHEREAS, the City of Orange has an adopted General Plan
Circulation Element, which does not preclude implementation of the
Master Plan of Arterial Highway (MPAH) within its jurisdiction; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Orange
hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Authority to
allocate $302,035.50 of CTFP funds from the MPAH Program for design
of said project to the City. This request is in conformance with the
CTFP allocation process and does not exceed 90% of the awarded
contract amount.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Orange agrees to
fund its share of the improvement costs in the above indicated fiscal
year and any additional costs over the identified programmed amount.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Orange has awarded
contracts for the Design project on or before June 30, 1994, for
671,190.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining ten (10) percent
in CTFP funds and any additional costs up to and including the
original $350,000 approved amount, shall be transferred to the City
of Orange when the Design Project is completed and a final report on
the project is accepted by the Orange County Transportation
Authority. The City of Orange agrees to subrnit the final report to
the Orange County Transportation Authority within one hundred twenty
120) days after the City's acceptance of the Design Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City
Council of the City of Orange, be and is hereby authorized and
directed to transmit to the Board of the Orange County Transportation
Authority a certified copy of this Resolution and to request a
reciprocal resolution.
