A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE APPROVING THE RECLASSIFICATION OF THE
LIBRARY MANAGER POSITION (POSITION CONTROL NO. 27)
RANGE 473 ($3774-$4839) TO LIBRARY SERVICES MANAGER
AT RANGE 503 ($4383-$5620) AND AMENDING RESOLUTION
8362 TO DELETE THE CLASSIFICATION OF SENIOR LIBRARY
MANAGER; AND FURTHER DIRECTING STAFF TO AMEND THE
BUDGET AND THE POSITION CONTROL SYSTEM TO REFLECT
THESE CHANGES.
WHEREAS, the Community Services/Library Director has submitted a reorganization plan
which facilitates and enhances the provision of Library services; and
WHEREAS, the reorganization involves the reclassification of the only remaining manager
in the department due to the recent retirement of the Senior Library Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Department and the City Manager concur with the requested
reorganization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Orange does
hereby authorize the following changes to the current Library Manager position (Position Control
No. 27) in the Library Department effective January 2, 1995:
1. Reclassify the Library Manager position, Range 473 ($3773-$4389) to the new
classification of Library Services Manager, Range 503 ($4383-$5620); and
2. Amend the Top Management Resolution 8562 to delete the classification of Senior
Library Manager.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council directs staff to amend the Library
Department's budget and the city's position control system to reflect the above changes.
