A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE
CITY OP ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
LIEUTENANT TREY SIRKS OP THE ORANGE POLICE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR MORE THAN
TWENTY-NINE YEARS OP LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Trey Sirks began his service with the City
of Orange Police Department on November 1, 1965, and was promoted
to Detectives on August 1, 1969, where he distinguished himself
with narcotics and fraud investigations; and was the case agent on
the seizure of 26,000 pounds of marijuana;
and WHEREAS, Trey was promoted to Patrol Sergeant on
November 17, 1980 and Detective Sergeant on November 25, 1984;
and WHEREAS, Trey was promoted to Lieutenant on December 8,
1985 and on April 8, 1990 was assigned to the Detective/
support Services Division, where Trey supervised the various
units including Detectives, Juvenile, Records, and Trey returned to
the Patrol Division in November 1993 as a Watch Commander;
and WHEREAS, Trey has received numerous awards, including
Police Officer of the Year, Award of Merit and a Community Service
Award from the orange Rotary Club, and certificate of Merit from
the Orang~ County Narcotics Officers Association;
and WHEREAS, Trey is the past president of the Orange
Police Officers Association and a past president of the
Southern California Fraud Investigations Association and has held
numerous other offices of leadership;
and WHEREAS, Trey was the original coordinator and teacher
of the POST Criminal Investigation Course at Chapman College,
the supervisor in charge of the original organization
and establishment of the Orange Police Department K-9
unit and several community oriented policing
projects;
and WHEREAS,
graduate of
university of Trey has a B.
A. Degree the
Delinquency Control Southern
California; and in management and
is a Institute
through the WHEREAS, Trey, a valued and productive employee who
has had an outstanding career as an Orange Police Officer, has
decided
to retire.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Orange expresses to Lieutenant Trey Sirks of
the Orange Police Department its sincere appreciation for his more
than 29 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City
of Orange.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the
city council,the citizens of Orange, wishes Trey
a happy,
fulfilling retirement.on
