RES-8632 Initiating Proceedings for Landscape Maintenance District No. 82-1RESOLUTION NO. 8632 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE INITIATING PROCEEDINGS AND ORDERING THE PREPARATION OF AN ENGINEE~S REPORT FOR CERTAIN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT PROCEEDINGS AD 82- 1)WHEREAS, the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF ORANGE, CALIFORNIA, at this time proposes to initiate proceedings for the renewal of a special assessment district pursuant to the terms and provisions of the "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972", being Division 15, Part 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, in what is known and designated as LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 82-1 hereinafter referred to as the" Assessment District"); and,WHEREAS, there has been submitted for approval a map designated by the name of this Assessment District, generally showing the area and property to be assessed in said Assessment District; and,WHEREAS, this legislative body wishes to order the preparation of a " Report", as authorized by Section 22585 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange, as follows:RECITALS Section I:That the above recitals are all true and correct.DESCRIPTION OF MAINTENANCE WORK Section II:That the public interest and convenience require, and this legislative body does propose at this time to initiate proceedings for the annual levy of special assessments for the maintenance and replacement of the following improvements and appurtenant work with the boundaries of the District.A. Ornamental shrubs, trees and ground cover;B. Complete irrigation system including pipes, valves, sprinkler heads For particulars as to the location of said work, reference is made to the boundarymapaspreviouslyapprovedandonfileintheOfficeoftheCityClerk. DESCRIPTION OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Section III: That said installation, maintenance, replacement and appurtenant work will provideaspecialanddirectbenefittothepropertyandparcelsoflandwithintheboundariesoftheAssessmentDistrict, and for a general description of the area and boundaries of saidproposedAssessmentDistrict, reference is made to a map previously approved by thislegislativebodyandidentifiedbythenameofthisAssessmentDistrict, which map is on filewiththetranscriptoftheseproceedingsandopenforpublicinspection. REPORT OF ENGINEER Section IV: That this improvement is hereby referred to the SUPERINTENDENT OFSTREETS, who is hereby directed to make and file the "Report" generally containing thefollowing: A. An estimate of the costs of the maintenance replacement and appurtenant workfortheprojectandreferencedfiscalyear; B. A diagram for the Assessment District, showing the area and propertiesproposedtobeassessed; C. An assessment spread of the estimated costs of the maintenance replacementandappurtenantwork, assessing the net amount upon all assessable lots and/or parcelswithintheAssessmentDistrictinproportiontothebenefitsreceived. Upon completion of the preparation of said "Report", the original shall be filed withtheCityClerk, who shall then submit the same to this legislative body for its immediatereviewandconsideration, FISCAL YEAR Section V: That the above "Report" shall include all costs and incidental expenses relating tothefiscalyearcommencingJulyI, 1996, and ending June 30, 1997.
