A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO LARRY WAMPLER OF THE ORANGE FIRE
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR
MORE THAN lWENTY-EIGHT YEARS
OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, on September 18, 1967, Larry Wampler began his career
with the City of Orange Fire Department as a full-time
Fireman; and WHEREAS, Larry was promoted to Fire Engineer on July 12, 1971,
and to Fire Captain on January 1,
1974; and WHEREAS, during his more than 28 year career, Captain
Wampler has demonstrated his dedication, training, experience and caring, and he has
served to exemplify the outstanding professional level of this
department; and WHEREAS, Captain Wampler was chosen to receive the
1978 Orange Rotary Club "Award of Merit" in recognition of many hours
spent preparing district maps for the department after
duty; and WHEREAS, on March 16, 1996, Larry ended his active-duty
role as an employee of the City of Orange
by retiring; and WHEREAS, his contributions have been invaluable to
the Orange Fire Department, the City, and to the citizens that he has served
during
his outstanding career.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Orange that Fire Captain Larry Wampler be
recognized and congratulated for his loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange for
more than
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the
citizens of Orange, wishes Larry a happy, healthy and fulfilling retirement.
