RES-8821 Temporary Street Closure for Special EventRESOLUTION NO. 8821
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY
CLOSING A SECTION OF SPRING STREET AND
VIRAGE FOR A SPECIAL EVENT.
WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 2lI01(e) authorizes cIties to close
portions of streets for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the
City Council, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are
to use that portion of the streets during the temporary closing; and
WHEREAS, Orange High School Panther Guard has requested temporary
street closures to accommodate their event at Fred Kelly Stadium
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange as follows:
Section I:
That Spring Street between Esplanade and Prospect and Virage between Spring
and Walnut be closed on Saturday, October 11, 1997, from 9:00 am to 12:00
midnight.
Section II:
That before said closure shall occur, Orange High School Panther Guard shall
provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure and
acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Departments.
Section III:
That Orange High School Panther Guard shall notify area residents of the event
and temporary street closures in accordance with the Police Department's directions.
