A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING
APPRECIATION TO JACKIE WAYNE
BROTHERTON OF THE PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM
FOR MORE THAN TWENTY-
EIGHT YEARS OF LOYAL AND
DEDICATED
SERVICE.WHEREAS, Jackie Wayne Brotherton began his career with the City of
Orange on January 13, 1969, as a Junior Civil Engineer;
and WHEREAS, Jack was promoted to Assistant Civil Engineer on October
23,1972;
and WHEREAS, he progressed in his acceptance of responsibility and
was promoted to Sub-Division's Engineer on July 1,
1975; and WHEREAS, Jack has unfailingly served the City and the citizens of
Orange for over 28 years of faithful service and has lived in the City for 30
years; and WHEREAS, Jack has always been well liked by his fellow employees
and is well known for his easy going sense of
humor; and WHEREAS, Jack has announced his decision to retire from
City service,effective July
8, 1997.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Orange that Jack Brotherton be recognized and congratulated for his
more than twenty-eight years of loyal and dedicated service to the
City of Orange.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf
of the citizens of Orange, wishes Jack and his wife, Carole, a long, happy
and healthy retirement.ADOPTED this 24th day
