CONSIDERATION ITEM CONTINUED on us is excessive and unfair under these
conditions. The resu.Zt could evenuta.Zly
PUBLIC HEARING STATEMENTS CONT'D. cause us to be forced out of business, plus
hardship for our employees and' the general
public. In addition:
l) Many of our customers prefer the ease of
street parking along our 200' of front
curbing.
2) Large nursery supplie trucks cannot enter
our parking area, resulting in our being
. unable to receive supplies and/or
merchandise.
3) Elimination of street parking in front of
the nursery which now serves as an "oasis"
for hundreds of people coming off the
freeway who are "1ost," need water for .
their radiator, or need to .use our telephone
to call home or the auto club. This causes
severe hardship on the general public!
We respectful.Zy request your thoughtful
consideration to vote denial and alleviation
- at this address of this unnecessary
 restriction.
Allen Stark, M.D.

I am concerned as I feel the volume of traffic
may become excessive. If we bring mo.re cars
and traffic onto the street we wi1.Z have
problems. I feel that if we brin g traffic
from the freeway down to Tustin St. it wi11
also bring more troub.Ze.

We have enough parking for our employees
on-site; we bought the motel in front of us
' and are using it for offices and additional
parking, we also rent parking from the church.
We have been bringing employees in by bus from

PUBLIC HEARING STATENIENTS CONT'D. Because of our programs we have many visitors
and we don`t know what to do as a solution.
Bernie Dennis, Tra ffic Engineer
About 3 months ago zou should have received
a letter from the City on this issue, as
your facility was .identified as a probable
`trouble spot' when parking is to be removed
from Tustin Street. In this letter we
suggested that you begin looking into
parkirg alternatives.

We have no parking available to us as our
neighbors will not a11ow us to rent parking
from thPm. We have established oursel ves in
this area and we don't wa.nt to Ioose our
, business. We a.Zso are having difficulty
making turns into and out of driveways in our
center. A1so, wht is wrong with using
Cambridge St. as an alternative to Tustin St. ?
Covey Larrtm

It is a fact that this wi11 ruin business on
Tustin St. , and the merchants here have
brought more money to the City than any other
street in the City. I thank there will be a
real problem in turning movements on the
- street into and out of hese shopping centers.
I feel you should study this siuation a
little more before you do something like this.

We have been here 20 years and do appreciate
the grawth of the City, but we do not think
another travel lane wi.Zl help our City. We
do not think the City has enough road control
for our .current business and there is no room
for future growth.

You have already eliminated parking on Pa1m

How do I receive materials, provide parking

I don`t want to see Tustin St. become the
travel way for traffic from Irvine to Yorba
Linda. And this is exactl y what wi11 occur
when you bring additional traffic from the
freeway commuters.
Charles Masoi
360 N. Tustin St.

I own the apartments at this location, I won't
suffer any financial hardshzp from this
parking removal on Tustin St. , however, I am
concerned that the overflow of businesses
allowing customers to park in my lot will
interfere with my tenants right to these
parking areas.
Unidentified Citizen Request:
wi11 the City participate in :the purchase of
property and construct and maintain public
parking Iots/structures to assist the parking
demand a.Zong Tustin Street?
Bernie Dennis, Traffic Engineer
The City has not taditionally provided
public lots for private uses and all new
developments/redevelopmenfs are subject to
the City parkin g code requirements to
furnish sufficient number of parking stall.s.
It is therefore not expected that the City
Council would make any excepion at this time.
PUBLIC HEARING SES'lON CLOSED
DISCUSSION AMONG TRAFFIC COMMISSIONERS D. Turner What is the feasibility of delivery
truc.ks 'parking near the median for access to

I think the added travel lanes would
compliment turning traffic into and out of

help you i.ri solving your parking problems,
in an advisory capacity. We don't expect
further traffic diversion from Route 55 to
Tustin St. wi11 occur resu.Ztant of the added
trave.Z .Ianes because of the number of
traffic signals on Tustin St. and the time
delay leaving and returning to the freeway.
