A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JERE P. MURPHY
OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
FOR MORE THAN TWENTY FIVE YEARS OF LOYAL
AND DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Jere Murphy began his career with the City of Orange in December of
1972; and
WHEREAS, after managing every aspect of plarming in the City of Orange and
exhausting his expertise in the City, Jere branched out to County-wide regional
planning activities;
and WHEREAS, Jere has significantly contributed to the successful pi arming
and implementation of some of the largest plarming projects in the County, such as the
East Orange General Plan and the Eastern Transportation Corridor;
and WHEREAS, Jere has also somehow managed to earn the distinction here at City
Hall as being the only employee still to have solitaire on his computer (soon be rectified!);
and WHEREAS, during these past 25 years those 47 secret face lifts have finally
helped Jere to retain his youthful good looks;
and WHEREAS, after more than 25 years, Jere has finally decided to retire in order
to enjoy the finer things in life - golf, traveling, and babysitting; and
WHEREAS, being Manager of the Advance Plarming Section, Jere has always told
us how great things are going to be - and they finally are for him!NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Onmge
that Jere P. Murphy be congratulated for his more than 25 years ofloyal and dedicated service
to the City of Orange.ADOPTED
