RES-8925 Vacating a Portion of Sycamore AvenueRESOLUTION NO. 8925 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF SYCAMORE AVENUE APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET EAST OF GLASSELL STREET. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange wishes to vacate a 60 by 62 foot portion of Sycamore Avenue approximately 100 feet east of Glassell Street, as more particularly described in the attached legal description and map; and WHEREAS, the City Council intends to reserve and except from such vacation existing easements for public utility purposes; and WHEREAS, summary vacation and abandonment of streets is conducted pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 4 of the Streets and Highways Code, Sections 8330~ ~,; and WHEREAS, the vacation meets all of the requirements for summary vacation under said Code. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange declares as follows: 1. That this summary vacation is made pursuant to Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 4 of the Streets and Highways Code, Section 8330 !:t~. 2. That the street to be summarily vacated is a 60 by 62 foot portion of Sycamore Avenue lying approximately 100 feet east of Glassell Street, as is more specifically shown on the attached legal description and map. 3. That the street to be summarily vacated is a portion of a street that lies within property under one ownership, and that does not continue through such ownership or end touching property of another. 4. That the City reserves and excepts from such summary vacation all existing easements for public utility purposes and any right necessary to maintain, operate, replace, remove or renew such public utilities or other public improvements underlying the subject street. 5. That the street to be summarily vacated is unnecessary for present or prospective public use in that Chapman University owns the property on three sides of the street and current vehicle activity on the street is solely related to the Chapman University parking lot. 6. That from and after the date this Resolution is recorded the street vacated shall no longer constitute a public street. 7. That the City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded in the office of the Orange County Recorder. ADOPTED this 12th day of May, 1998.
