A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE AUrnORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF
BATAVIA STREET FROM LA VETA AVENUE NORTHERLY TO
PALMYRA AVENUE, AND REMOVING ON-STREET
PARKING FROM BOrn SIDES OF BATAVIA STREET FROM LA
VETA AVENUE TO PALMYRA AVENUE FROM 10:30 A.M. TO 1:30 P.
M.,ON SEPTEMBER 11, 1999 FOR A SPECIAL
EVENT.WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets
for cehlbrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing isnecessaryforthesafetyandprotectionofpersonswhoaretousethatportionofthestreetduringthe
temporary closing;
and WHEREAS, Orange County Ronald McDonald House has requested a temporary
street closure to accommodate a special event on Batavia Street from LaVeta Avenue northerly to
Palmyra Avcmue from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on September 11,
1999.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
as
follows:Seclli!!!
l:That Batavia Street from LaVeta Avenue northerly to Palmyra Avenue, be closed from10:
30 a.m. to I :30 p.m., on September 11, 1999, to "through" traffic
only.That on-street parking shall be temporarily removed from both sides of Batavia
Street from LaVeta Avenue northerly to Palmyra Avenue, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on September
11,
1999.Sectionll:That before said closure shall occur, the event sponsor, Orange County
Ronald McDonald House shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure
acceptable to the City including the Police and Public
Works Departments.
Section ill:The event sponsor, Orange County Ronald McDonald House, shall notifY area
residents and businesses of the temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department'
