RES-9133 Uniform Construction Cost Accounting ActRESOLUTION NO. 9133 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE ELECTING TO BECOME SUBJECT TO THE UNIFORM CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES AND ADOPTING ALTERNATIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES AS SET FORTH IN THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUCTION COST ACCOUNTING ACT FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK PERFORMED OR CONTRACTED BY THE CITY OF ORANGE. WHEREAS, prior to the enactment in 1983 of the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (commencing with Section 22000 of the Public Contract Code) herein referred to as the "Act"), existing law did not provide uniformity of the cost accounting standards and bidding procedures on construction work performed or contracted by public entities in the State of California; and WHEREAS, the Act provides for the development of cost accounting standards and an alternative method for the bidding of public works projects by public entities; and WHEREAS, the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission herein referred to as the "Commission") established under the Act has developed uniform public construction cost accounting procedures for implementation by public agencies, which elect to utilize the uniform procedures, in the performance of, or in contracting for, construction on public projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange does resolve as follows: Set.ti!m..I: The City Council hereby elects under Public Contract Code Section 22030 to have the City of Orange become subject to the uniform public construction cost accounting procedures set forth in the Act and to the Commission's policies and procedures manual and cost accounting review procedures, as they may each from time to time be amended. Section.JI: The City Clerk, or her designated representative, is authorized and directed, on behalf of the City, to notifY the State Controller forthwith of this election by filing a certified copy of this resolution with the State Controller. Sectionlll: The officers and employees of the City are authorized and directed, jointly and severally, to do any and all things necessary or advisable in order to effectuate the purposes of this resolution or the Act.
