A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE DECLARING A 60 DAY MORATORIUM ON THE
PROCESSING AND INSTALLATION OF SPEED HUMPS
WITHIN THE CITY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 8823authorizes the City Council of the City of Orange to install
or remove speed humps from public streets as part of the "Residential Neighborhood Traffic
Management Program" adopted by the City Council in December 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has requested a ~o day moratorium on the installation of speed
humps at any location with the City for an assessment of the impact of the humps on emergency
vehiicles and response time; and
WHEREAS, the City Traffic Commission has approved this 60 day moratorium at their
meeting of March 10, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orange does
resolve as follows:
Section I:
Impose
a sixty (60) day moratorium on the installation of speed humps on public streets at any
location within the City of Orange.ADOPTED
