A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO SERGEANT LARRY W. PORE' OF THE
ORANGE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND
COMMENDING HIM FOR THIRTY-THREE
YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED
SERVICE WHEREAS, Larry W. Pore' began his service with the Orange
Police Department on November 20, 1967, after serving his Country in the United States
Marine Corps, attaining the rank of
Sergeant.Carrying badge #187, Larry began his career in the Police Department as a
patrol officer. Over the course of his career, he served the Orange Police Department
in numerous capacities, such as: In Traffic as Motor Officer; in Detectives as Court
Liaison,Auto Theft (he was dubbed "Mr. Auto Theft"), Burglary and Fraud, Property
Crimes,DARE; Robbery and Homicide; in Patrol as a Training Officer, Crime Scene
Investigator and Report
Analyst. .In 1985, Larry was promoted to Sergeant, and then a year later became
Detective Sergeant where he supervised the Crimes Against Person Unit. He worked on some
of the most notorious homicides-not only in Orange County, but the United States.
He is past President of the Orange County Homicide
Investigations Association.After nine years in the Detective Division, Larry assumed the
responsibility for the fiscal affairs of the Department working the budget while serving as
Police Facilities Manager and supervising the Crime Prevention Unit and the
Volunteer Program.Larry has a BA Degree in Public Management, attended the Los
Angeles Police Department Academy, and graduated from the FBI National Academy and

Leadership Institute.r-He served in many leadership capacities, such as Advisor for
the Law Enforcement Explorer Post 266, President of the City of Orange Police
Association and the City of Orange Police Management Association. Larry received
Community Service and Merit Awards from the Orange Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts of America,
and was named Police Officer of the Year from the Orange County
Bar Association.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Orange expresses to Sgt. Larry Pore' of the Orange Police Department
its sincere appreciation for his 33 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of
Orange, and wishes Larry and his family an enjoyable and
ADOPTED, this 26th day of September, 2000.
