RES-9306 Temporarily Closing Sections of Public Streets for Block PartiesRESOLUTION NO. 9306 r- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING SECTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR BLOCK PARTIES. WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21101 ( e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets for cel(:brations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and WHEREAS, various residents have requested several temporary street closures to accommodate block parties within their neighborhoods, and WHEREAS, residents have agreed to comply with the regulations governing parties in public places that alcoholic beverages on public streets are a violation of the law, loud or offensive music will lead to the revocation of their permits, it is the applicants' responsibility to clean the streets after the event, and to maintain 12 feet of unobstructed access for emergency vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council ofthe City of Orange does resolve as follows: I'"' 4th OF JULY BLOCK PARTY - GARNET AVE.Section I:Ratification of administrative decision that Gamet Ave. from Laurinda Ln. to the end of the cul-de-sac be closed from 4:00 P.M. through 9:00 P.M. - July 4th, 2000. Section II: That before said closure area residents shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Departments. Section III: That Danielle Snow, representing area residents, shall notify area residents of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions. 4th OF .JUL Y BLOCK PARTY - S. GRAND ST.Section I:Ratification of administrative decision that Grand St. between Culver Ave. and La VetaAve. be closed from 9:00 A.M. through 7:00 P.M. - July 4th, 2000. r Section II: That before said closure area residents shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Departments. Section III: That Sandi Wilcox, representing area residents, shall notify area residents of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions. 4th OF JULY BLOCK PARTY - N. HAMILTON ST.Section I: Ratification of administrative decision that Hamilton St. from Handy St. to the end of the cul-de- sac be closed from 12:00 Noon through 8:00 P.M. - July 4th, 2000.Section II:That before said closure area residents shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Departments. Section III:That Dane Vaughn, representing area residents, shall notify area residents of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions.4th OF JULY BLOCK PARTY - N. LINCOLN ST.Section I: Ratification of administrative decision that Lincoln St. between Palm Ave. and Sycamore Ave. be closed from 8:00 A.M. through 8:00 P.M. - July 4th, 2000.Section II:That before said closure area residents shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City, including the Police and Public Works Departments.Section III: That Ernie Glasgow, representing area residents, shall notify area residents of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions. r" 4th OF JULY BLOCK PARTY - E.
