RES-9247 Loyal Service Appreciation Jack McGeeRESOLUTION NO. 9247 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JACK MCGEE OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT AND COMMENDING HIM FOR OVER 28 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ORANGE. WHEREAS, Jack McGee began his career with the City of Orange in February 1972; and WHEREAS, Jack, hiring on as a Draftsman, immediately began his climb up the career ladder working as an Assistant Planner, Associate Planner, Current Planning Administrator and ultimately to Community Development Director - a position he held for more than 11 years; and WHEREAS, throughout his career, Jack significantly contributed to the successful planning and implementation of some of the largest planning projects in the City' s history, such as the major growth and development in East Orange,redevelopment of the Orange Mall and Town & Country Shopping Centers, and The Bloek at Orange development; and WHEREAS, both the public and private sectors have recognized Jack's ability to bring projects to a successful completion benefiting all involved in the development proc: ess; and WHEREAS, Jack's management style and work ethic produced a level of professionalism and accountability that is admired by his peers and practiced by his co-workers. He worked diligently to ensure that City standards were maintained at quality levels; and has always been a loyal and well respected employee for the City of Orange.NOW, THEREFORE, we commend Jack McGee for more than 28 years ofloyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange, and wish him well in his future endeavors -whether it be continuing on with his invaluable contributions to the planning profession,traveling the National Parks or the road to Lake Wobegon or adding to his license plate collection.
