A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ORANGE APPROVING
THE SUBMITTAL OF CERTAIN PUBLIC
WORKS IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO
THE ORANGE COUNTY SANITATION
DISTRICT FOR FUNDING UNDER THE
COOPERATIVE PROJECTS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Sanitation District intends to allocate up to
10,000,000 in matching funds for basic water conservation programs, inflow reduction
improvement projects and related administrative public works projects within certain
incorporated cities in the County of Orange, and the County under its new Cooperative
Projects Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orange desires to implement certain projects meeting the
requirements ofthe Orange County Sanitation District's Cooperative Projects Program; and
WHEREAS, the City's Water Conservation Best Management Practices, Grease
Ordinance, and proposed Sewer Master Plan Update are consistent with the Orange County
SanitatJlon District conditions for receiving funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orange desires to apply to the Orange County Sanitation
District to receive Cooperative Projects Program funds; and
WHEREAS, if granted the Orange County Sanitation District funding will be used to
supplement the City's existing public infrastructure program; and
WHEREAS, if funds are granted, the City of Orange will provide matching funds for
each project as required by the Orange County Sanitation District Funding Program Guidance
Packagte.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Orange that:
1.
The Orange County Sanitation District is hereby requested to allocate funds from
the Cooperative Projects Funding Program to the City in the amounts specified in the City'
s application.2.
If granted, said funds shall be matched by funds from the City at the percentage
identified in its competitive grant application as required and shall be used as supplemental
funding to aid the City in reducing inflow/infiltration to its sewer system.
3. The projects for which funding is requested to reduce inflow/infiltration to
sewer system are:
a) Sacramento Street at Garfield Avenue Storm Drain
b) Hartman Street cul-de-sac and Fletcher Street
Storm Drain c) Master Plan of
Sewers Update d) Camera for Sewer Line Videotaping (inside of
sewer lines)ADOPTED this 28th day of
March"
