The regular meeting of the Qrange Pubiic Library Board of 7rustees was called to order at 4:30 p.m. by Chairman George Gorham in the Community Room of the Main Library. Present: Trustees Courtney, Gorham, McEwan, Saenz and 1Nay. Also present, Karen A. Leo, Library Director , and Sheila Gannon, Administrative Secretary. i ! . Tru�tee Gourtney maved that the minutes of the December 19 meeting be approved as presented. Seconded by Trustee McEwan. Motion carried. III . Legislative Update: A short Jiscussion took place about a corrrnunication received from Mike Dilion, State Lobbyist, in regard to the Governor 's budget. IV. Librarry Director 's Report: The Library Director 's Report was discussed. Director Leo explained that the statistics were down due to the Main Library being ciosed for renovation, and this month the parking lot at the Main Library was closed for two weeks resurfacing, which impacted �n circulation. V. Old Business: A. Director Leo said a contract has been signed with lnlex, Inc. for the software for the �ibrary Automation Project and hardware has been ordered from Hewiett-Packard. Also, the plastic library cards with the tiger motif have been ordered. The following items were discussed: t . the memo which Director Leo sent to Council in regard to the Board 's recommendations for the new Main Library site and an adjacent cultural /community center ; 2 . the Denver Public Library newsietter on customer service; 3. the memo in regard to the Playboy magazine subscription which Director Leo sent to Council and the response from the Mayor . It was moved by Trustee Saenz that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Trustee Way. Motion carried.
