The regular meeting of the Orange Public Library Board of Truste.es was called to
order at 12 noon at the Casa Tequila Restaurant.
Present: Trustees Courtney, Diaz, Gorham, Lehman and Tavis. Also present,
former Trustee Edmund Salter.
The minutes of the previous meeting, Nove.mber 19, 1979, were approved as read.

There was no monthly report from the Finance Director
Monthly report of library service dated November 1979
Agenda Items:
COMMUNITY AI�IALYSIS STUDY
Mr. Erlich reported that the Orange Public Library would not be included in the initial
Community Analysis Study to be conducted through the Santiago Library System. The
first participants will be Anahe.im, Santa Ana and Yorba Linda libraries.
AUTOMATED CIRCULATION CONTROL
Hazel Wang will complete a study on Automated Circulation Control by January 15, 1980.

A picture of the El Modena Branch Library appears in the Architectural issue of
the Library Journal.
CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE BY LIBRARY BOARD MEMBERS
Mr. Erlich reported that he had sent a memo to the City Manager dated Nove.mber 30, 1979,
concerning this matter. The question of conference attendance by all City Commissioners
and and Board Members will be addressed at budget time by City Council.
CLARION December 7, 1979
Mr. Erlich discussed the latest issue of the CLARION, a flyer which discusses
library legislation. SB958 (Nielsen) a bill to fund public libraries was discussed.
The meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
Next regular meeting will be January 21, 1980, 4:30 p.m. in the office of the
Library Director.
